When You Love Horses And Love Your Mate, What Kind Of Wedding Do You Have?
Today is Valentine’s Day, and love is in the air. And if the love of your life - the human kind, that is - happens to love horses as much as you do, you might end up with the kind of wedding that Doug and Sharon Prusso had. Now this is real horse love. Check it out…
Doug Prusso met Sharon Enteen while they were attending Penn State University many moons ago. They both enjoy a great love for horses and decided that it was time to tie the knot. So on October 5, 1997, they took their vows…on horseback.
Below are some photos from their wedding album. Doug is mounted on his Quarter Horse, Sable. Sharon sits beautifully atop CJ, her Thoroughbred.

Interestingly enough, Sharon has been my trainer for some 7 years. She and Doug own Falcon Ridge Stables, an outstanding training and horse boarding stable in Woodstock, GA.
Ah, Valentine’s Day. Yes, love is in the air! Well, love and fly spray, and whatever other smells happen to be wafting through your barn.

Great post! This has always been a dream of mine. I just need to find a man that loves horses as much as I do!!
I found your blog through the All Things Equine Blog Carnival!!!
Wow, that’s a dream wedding! Beuatiful horses. My mom has told me I should marry someone who loves horses! (My dad doesn’t get the horse thing, but luckily he still supports it!)
We think he secretly likes the horses but won’t admit it.
Great post. Gives new meaning to riding off into the sunset. I think this wedding is definitely the stuff dreams are made of. I’m visiting from the Equine Blog Carnival.
Visiting from the All Things Equine Blog Carnival …
Not exactly a “church wedding”, but it fits the happy couple. I do hope the best man and maid of honor loved horses as much as the bride and groom LOL.
I currently train under Sharon, so this really brings a smile to me face. :]
O my these pictures are so pretty! It has been my dream for years to marry someone who has a love of horses like me. An even bigger dream of mine is to someday be able to ride my bratty untrained horse Tootsie Roll down the isle. (by then I hope she will be trained
) I woukld love to meet someone who has done this and get their insights about good places to have these types of weddings. Once im out of high school and out of collage I want to move to a ranch and have the wedding there!!!
