How can your child benefit from your owning a horse? Many, many ways. Caring for an animal encourages a child to be responsible, as well as encouraging teamwork. The routine of feeding and caring helps instill a sense of organization and discipline. And a child who is shy or nervous can actually gain self-confidence from handling and being around a larger animal.

A late-90’s Australian study tracked 4220 riders over 35 events in every riding event in south Australia. The study focused specifically on riding injuries (to the humans, not the horses).
